BMW final round delayed a second time

BMW
LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The final round of the BMW Championship has been delayed – again – after another line of showers blew through Conway Farms.

The horn blew for the second time Sunday at 3:28 p.m. ET, with the final group of Jim Furyk and Steve Stricker yet to tee off. Before the latest delay, they were scheduled to begin at 5:10 p.m. ET, with sunset at 8:01 p.m.

The late start ensures that the third event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs will have a Monday finish.

Officials initially suspended play at 11 a.m. ET but resumed after a 3 1/2-hour delay. Players returned to the course for only about 58 minutes before the horn blew again.

After his band of showers and storms, players should be able to head back onto the course and continue their final rounds, though they will not finish.

At least Monday’s forecast looks more promising: high of 64 degrees, mostly sunny, and winds gusting to 20 mph.
